Help Single Mother Fight Cancer

Mila Vetshstein, a 43 year old Moldovan immigrant and family friend, was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. She has two children aged 12 and 19. On Friday, February 23rd, she will be having surgery to remove the tumor. After this, she will repeat chemotherapy.

Mila fell ill in September of 2017. She is a single mother and is currently living with her daughter and elderly mother. She was taking care of her mother before becoming sick, but can no longer do so. Her son is away in the Navy. 

In Moldova, Mila worked as a family doctor. Before becoming ill, she worked as a clerk at a pharmacy in Brooklyn.

Because of her illness, Mila is in debt $12,000 for her family’s apartment.   Also due to her illness, she is losing her teeth and needs $1,500 to restore them.  This is just the beginning of mounting expenses the family faces.
