Help Silvie raise £500 for Alzheimer’s Scotland
Hi. I’m running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 29th May to raise money for Alzheimer’s Scotland. Very recently I found out that my granny has been diagnosed with early on set Alzheimer’s. At the start of this year i told myself i wanted to run a marathon. I soon realised that with the nature of my job it’s pretty impossible to be able to commit to a date, especially when it is months away, so i accepted that i couldn’t do it. However i’ve been running a bit recently and out of interest the other night i googled upcoming half marathons. Fast forward a week later i found out my granny’s diagnosis. When i found out, i really felt like i wanted to do this for her and for anyone else who has family members suffering from this disease. the next one is on the 29th of may which only gives me 4 weeks to train. So far the furthest i’ve ever ran is 10k. Im scared but it’s something i’m determined to do. I want to do it now whilst i have the time and before it’s too late. So in exactly 1 month from now i will be running the Edinburgh half marathon whether i am ready or not. My goal is to raise £500 so if you have anything as little as £1 to donate i would really appreciate it. Thank you xxx
