Showcase Is Expanding! Three levels of fun!

Donation protected
** MAJOR UPDATE ** We have been a little quiet recently - but we have exciting news! Our building went up for sale and was sold at the end last year - so we didn't want to plan too much only to loose our space yet again! There is nothing worse than planning a season and having to cancel half of it because you lose your performance space - trust us, we know! BUT - we have had a couple of great meetings with the new owners and have come to an agreement - and we will be renting ALL THREE floors of commercial space! The Main Floor will be the performance space, the basement will be converted into a green room, dressing rooms, and costume storage, and the sub basement will be converted to a shop and build area (we have actually already done our first build project in that space, and we are prepping another!).

All that said - there is a lot of work to be done to prep those spaces. The previous owners left EVERYTHING in the space (so we acquired a bunch of props and furniture - but we also acquired a bunch of trash! We have already gone through our first 30yd roll off, and will probably need another one.

In addition to getting the spaces ready - we are planning planning planning! We just picked our summer camp and hired our instructors (more info coming out about summer camp early next week!). We have selected and applied for the rights for a season of shows. We are working with Elkton Magic to bring some smaller magic shows back to Showcase. We are planning on monthly cabarets. We are RAMPING UP and GETTING EXCITED!

Thank you to everyone who has stood with us these last few years as have made our way through the turbulence - it looks like things may finally calm down and we can create cool art and keep bringing the performing arts to Elkton!

If you are able - please consider supporting us - no donation is too small - and everything goes to making sure we can continue to keep our doors open, keep producing cool art, and bring quality educational arts programs to Elkton! Thank you to everyone!!

** UPDATE ** We have been super busy - we've done a couple of productions in the new space - we are in the middle of our first summer camp - and we are planning a bunch of amazing things for the fall!! But we still need to do a BUNCH of work in the space - we need a new sign for the front of a building, we need to retrofit the existing ceiling lighting, ....and we still need to complete two new bathrooms! Any help is greatly appreciated!!

**UPDATE** We are pleased to announce that in January 2023 we will be reopening Showcase on Main at 118/116 W. Main Street! Thanks to Brookbend's John and Steven for allowing us to rent this gorgeous space and supporting us in Keeping the Arts Alive in Elkton, MD! We look forward to bringing live theatre and performing arts to our community for many years to come!

That said - we have a LOT of work to do before we open! We will need to create two ADA-compliant bathrooms, retrofit the retail space into a black box performance space, and create two dressing rooms on the lower level - and we need your help to get it all done as quickly as possible! Please consider making a donation to help us with the work we need to complete before opening back up next winter!

Thanks much - Lee & Christy, Showcase on Main

****************************

Showcase on Main has loved bringing the performing arts to Elkton, Maryland since we opened in 2019. We had a rocky start, followed by a Covid hiatus, but we came charging back in August 2021 with a fantastic production of The Spitfire Grill and the introduction of Elkton Magic!

However, last month, we were informed that our building was sold and that the new owners no longer wanted us as tenants. Having already booked thrings through the end of June, we negotiated a short-term lease with the new owners and are paying double what we had been for our final months.

We have loved being on Main Street - and love the relationships we have created with our friends in Downtown, Elkton! We are currently working on a few leads for our new home - but we need your help! The extra costs of rent for our final months, the costs of moving and relocating, the costs of moving pianos - these are all things that we had not planned for!

Any assistance you can provide us will ensure that we keep bringing the performing arts to Elkton! We hope to announce the location of our new venue in the next few weeks - along with a calendar of what our final events at 112 W. Main Street will be.

Thank you for your help - and thank you for your continued support of the ARTS in Cecil County!
