Help Shana Petkus after Brain Surgery!

Donation protected

On the evening of Friday, January 8th, Kyle came home from work to every husband’s worst fear. Shana, a 34 year old stay-at-home mom, had laid their two kids, Rhett and Emmy, down for a nap. Shana then laid down to take a nap for herself. When Kyle returned home, Shana was unconscious on the couch. As he tried to wake her she began to have seizures. This is where the Petkus family’s medical journey begins.

Since that day, Shana went by ambulance to a hospital in Longview where the doctors decided she need to be transported to another hospital in Tyler where they would take her to the Neurology ICU . She was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor called a low grade glioma. The doctors immediately decided to operate and removed the tumor in Shana’s brain on Sunday, January 10th. After surgery she began to wake up for the first time since laying down for a nap. Shana has been in the ICU for several days and will have a long road to recovery that will require rehab, physical therapy, Dr. visits, and much more.

The lives of Shana’s family have been turned upside down during this whirlwind of events. With Kyle needing to take time off work to care for Shana and their two children, they will be hit hard with the financial burdens of the situation. We are asking anyone who is willing and able, to help in whatever way you can. Even the smallest donation is appreciated, and we want to support this precious family of four during this extremely difficult time.
