Music is the foundation to Shakers but unfortunately due to the COVID-19 regulations Shakers can not operate in the manner that actually pays the overhead cost of the business.
This is a small business owned and ran by a Mother and Daughter. There is no legal protection from the government which stops us from losing a business that we worked extremely hard to build and maintain. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary on July 10th 2020 and would love to be able to celebrate another year. After being closed for 4 months we are legally allowed to be open with many regulations in place. We are currently $15,000 behind in rent, the land lord wants his money and nothing is stopping him from forcing us from a place many people like to call their Home bar. We have applied for the small business loan but have not received any word about the application since it was applied for nearly 2 months ago.
Shakers Pub has been dedicated to the Long Island Original Music scene since our opening. We have hosted many shows ranging in genre. We have welcomed with open arms Comedy, Poetry, Hardcore, Hip Hop, Metal, and Punk. Shakers has provided a safe and respectful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy a night out.
Shakers has provided a FREE location to every fundraiser that has ever asked to bless our establishment with raising funds for suicide awareness, the fight against opiates, wildfires in California, Toys for Tots, and many memorial events for passed on scene goers.
I am asking for support to help keep Shakers open. This is a last resort effort, I really need help.
We are currently only open from 2pm to 9pm everyday, capacity at 50% which means we can accommodate up to 61 people inside.
If you want to support us by stopping in please remember to wear you mask and maintain a distance of 6 feet apart.
