Help send Naima to A Cappella Academy!

Hi! My name is Naima Kahl and I was one of 100 applicants accepted into A Cappella Academy for summer 2023! A Cappella Academy is a 10-day vocal music program in California providing a rare opportunity for musicians from all over the world to meet, sing together, and bond over their shared passion and a cappella music!

I am a current high school junior in Westlake, California, and have been singing pretty much all my life. I have always been thoroughly involved in music, whether that be in band programs, choral ensembles, a cappella groups, jazz ensembles, or my own personal journeys with instruments and developing my own style! I have always been fond of the concept of a cappella music, listening to Pentatonix and harmonizing along with songs, but around the end of middle school, I delved deeper into the world of a cappella, discovering the wonders of collegiate groups and experimenting with my own arrangements. As expected in middle school, many of my friends didn't share my love of harmony and arranging, and since then, I have dreamt of being a part of a community of people who love to sing, challenge themselves, and listen to a cappella as much as I do. When I found A Cappella Academy, the community was exactly what I had imagined and I was overjoyed that it existed. Hearing about it motivated me to continue pursuing my singing and arranging, even arranging for my high school choir this past year!

Getting into this program is an absolute dream and I cannot wait to experience it this summer. However, the reality is, it is very expensive, with the total cost being $2,500 dollars! I am blessed enough to be within driving distance of the camp, but this cost will cover all the expenses of my 10-day stay! Any and all donations help reduce the cost for me and my family (there are a lot of us :)), allowing me to create less of a burden for them, especially with me going to college soon. Even if your donation is small, I am still so SO so grateful to you and your support! The deadline for donations is March 31 so please do your best to get your donations in before then!
