Help send Mariner BPA to the National Conference
Donation protected
On Wednesday, February 28, 2019, twenty-four members of the Mariner Middle School Business Professionals of America attended the 2019 Delaware State Leadership Conference. After a day of workshops and intense competition, eight students won 1st-3rd place in their respective events. Finalists were as follows:
Keyboarding Production
- Sara Dawson: 1st Place
- Andrew Criswell: 3rd Place
Administrative Support Team
- Alexandra Cleaver/Jetta Hastings/Amelia Phelps: 2nd Place
Presentation Management Team
- Mackinzie Brown/Sara Dawson/Morgan Newcomb/Sophie Zych: 1st Place
As a result of their successful finishes, the above students have now been invited to represent both Mariner and the State of Delaware at the BPA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA from April 30-May 5. To that end, attending the NLC will enable our students to continue to develop their business and leadership skills through various workshops, as well as to compete against other individuals/teams from across the country to be named national award winners.
Unfortunately, attendance requires significant fundraising. Thus, we are seeking financial support from any and all able/willing individuals.
The cost breakdown is as follows:
- Hotel Accomodations: $4,055.85 (Total)
- Airfare: $375/student
- Transportation (CA): $934.09
Funds are needed by March 29, 2019 in order to meet registration deadlines.
