Help send Jono the orangutan home

Donation protected
Jono the orangutan was featured on ABC's Foreign Correspondent episode The Baby Trade.
He is a full grown Bornean adult male, confiscated as an illegal pet 5 years ago.
Jono has been locked in a small cell at a government facility  in Jakarta ever since.
He has no quality of life.  His initial rescue has resulted in swapping him from one small locked cage to another.
Footage of Jono and his story broke viewers hearts.
Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN) have been trying to have him released for years with no success.

JAAN have now recieved contact from the Ministry of Forestry allowing them to relocate Jono.  However this comes at a huge financial cost to the Jakarta based charity.  Palm Oil Investigations (which I am founder and director of)  has teamed up with JAAN to help.

Jono's name is actually Pedro, his DNA documents show that he is from South Kalimantan, therefore Orangutan Foundation International is where he needs to go.
JAAN have been in discussion with OFI's Dr Birute Mary Galdikas who has agreed to make room for Jono/Pedro at OFI's orphan orangutan Care Centre.

We need to make it clear that this could be a slow process getting him out due to paperwork from the officials.  Ministry of Forestry Jakarta have officially requested relocation permit from the National Office of Forestry Indonesia.
Palm Oil Investigations will keep everyone updated on progress and any unforseen hold ups in this process.

Funds Raised will pay for the following:
Medical equipment, veterenary supplies, translocation costs including flights from Jakarta to Kalimantan Borneo, then transfer to OFI care centre.  Included are costs for the monitoring team to accompany Jono on his journey.   Any special needs required for Jono/Pedro at his new home.  Any left over funds will be put towards his ongoing care.   We hope to smash this $10,000 target so that Jono's ongoing care costs can be covered. He deserves to see the light of day once and for all.
We hope that you may be able to contribute to the fundraiser, no matter how large or small, so that Jono/Pedro can get out of those shocking conditions and go home to Borneo.

Thank you in advance for your donation and thank you Foreign Correspondent.
