Help Scott Recover From A Hemorrhagic Stroke

Scott is being moved to specialist hospital in Madison to receive the best therapies and care he needs. Here he can relearn the skills needed to return to a normal life. He will be working to breathe on his own, regain his speech, and start walking again. This move to a far away city will add unforeseen financial stress to the family that needs to be there for him. But the progress he has made and the support from our friends and family gives us hope that he will one day, return to his usual way of life.


To our dearest family and friends, on March 7th a very unexpected and devastating tragedy struck our family. While at home, Scott experienced a very severe Intracranial Hemorrhage caused by a rare Brain AVM. The doctors stabilized him and performed an immediate lifesaving operation to remove the AVM. Scott's angiography showed that the operation was successful! However, there is still a long and challenging road to recovery before he can fully be himself again. We are looking at a long time in the ICU, countless CT scans, further stays in the hospital, and months of physical therapy. It will not be easy but for those of you who know him well, you know that if there's anybody who can overcome this, it will be him.

 

Scott is a fiercely loved father, husband, brother, son, uncle, friend, and so much more. He is a 10 year Air Force veteran and an avid motorcycle rider. He fights for motorcyclists' rights as the Representative of ABATE of Wisconsin's 3B Region.

 

Scott's wife, Nicola, will become his full-time caregiver for the followings weeks and months of his recovery, which will cause a huge change in lifestyle including the financial stress with the loss of household income.

Scott loves motorcycles and all that comes with that lifestyle. He is full of so much random knowledge that there's no doubt he could give them a run for their money on jeopardy, and has an otherworldly knowledge of bands/music/musicians. Ask him about any rock band and he'll most definitely have a crazy story to tell. He can fix just about anything that needs fixing and has always gone out of his way to help those he loves. He loves vans shoes and band T-shirt’s. When he was younger, Scott loved skateboarding, snowboarding, and hockey. He was punk way before it was cool, as he likes to say. Let's get him back to the Scott we know and love; the Scott that jams out to old punk rock albums in his garage while he works on his bike
