Help Save Two Women Vintage Goods

Donation protected

Hi,

My name is Sara and I am trying to find help for my friends, who own Two Women Vintage Goods.

Dianna, Jim, and Fielding have always loved antiques and the stories they held. When they were young, Dianna and Jim used to travel the country, checking out old homes and barns for hidden treasures. Dianna has so many stories about the wonderful people they met and, the interesting situations they got into. When they had a daughter, Fielding inherited their passion, love, and appreciation for antiques. She also inherited her parent's artistic gifts and is a jewelry artisan, she makes beautiful and unique pieces.

They had a small business at their home for several years, but in 2012 they decided to open an actual shop in town. They continued their artwork and built their business, always giving back to the community and helping others when they could. Tragically, they lost Jim to cancer in 2017, but Dianna and Fielding endured.

In late 2018, they were able to move into a larger building in an area the city was rejuvenating, and, they added a coffee shop (and hired me). They were doing very well and, then, Covid-19 hit and they were forced to close down for three months. They did what they could and added online sales, but there is only so much you can do when it comes to shipping antiques. They applied for grants and were denied because they were able to do online sales (catch-22). While the shop has been able to be open for a few months now, sales are less than half of what they were.

We were able to apply for a loan through SNAP, and they guaranteed we would have the funds by August 13. They told us to tell the landlord (who has been very patient and kind, especially given the amount owed), that we would be able to pay him by August 13th. Then, they didn't answer when we asked when the closing documents would be sent. I finally got through to someone and they said, while it was originally authorized, they decided at the last minute to decline it. We applied for a different loan, but it takes time and we are scrambling to find the funds to pay the back rent before we are evicted.

On top of that, the shop had to close for several days, three weeks ago, because a car crashed into the front of the building, damaging a lot of merchandise. We will also have to be closed when they do the repairs to the damage to the building.

Dianna and Fielding are two of the kindest, most giving people I have ever known. Everything they have is invested in this shop, which started as a dream between a young married couple. They need help and, they need it now, not only is the shop at risk, so are their homes. So, I started this GoFundme...Something I probably should have done weeks ago, hoping to save an amazing small business.
