SAVE OUR WILDLIFE CORRIDOR ELANORA

The Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) has approved development on 215 Guineas Creek Road, Elanora of 42 houses, interfering with a critical koala habitat and endangering a thriving ecosystem. This land houses koalas, echidnas, black cockatoos, possums, wallabies, rare swamp wallabies, green tree frogs, and diverse native flora, some of which are endangered. This development will have entries on Tarrabool Drive AND Doubleview Drive Elanora.

We, a group of 20 concerned community members, are fighting this decision. We have now committed to the next step and have engaged a solicitor - Thomas McKeown Solicitors to help us with our appeal. The cost for his services for us to have a hearing in the planning and environment court is $7500. We have approx 4-8 weeks to raise these funds. We need your urgent support to raise funds for:

● The Environment and Planning Court lawyer: To challenge the development in court and protect this vital wildlife corridor.

● An independent ecological assessment: To document the true value of the habitat and strengthen our case.
