Help family owned bounce house in Mall of Monroe

 

Family and Friends Funland is a family-owned business and has been located in the Mall of Monroe for 14 years now.  We are also known as the bounce house place.  We love what we do, we started this business when our son was just a baby.  We wanted a place to come and play and have no worries about anything. Coming into a clean and safe environment where children and adults can play together.  Bringing back the family play time and enjoying quality time together. We have so many great memories of our family, friends, our foster children, customers and customers that have turned into friends or even customers who have come to work for us over the years.  Whether it was a birthday party or to come in and play, Monroe County, Wayne County and even as far as Ohio have been so wonderful to us.  We have watched all the children grow up to be preteens, teens, and young adults.  Grandparents bringing in their grandchildren.  We have seen numerous parents teaching their children how to ride a bicycle or we have even helped teach children how to ride a bicycle. We have grown with our customers and feel like they are our family too. There has been so much love, laughter, smiles, fun and memories that we want to be here for many many more to come.  You have impacted our lives in so many ways, and we know we have impacted yours as well.  

We are blessed to be a part of the communities and their families.  We have had the Easter Bunny giving out Easter Eggs and free Pictures.  We have had Christmas parties with Santa Claus and each child received a gift, a book and free pictures.  We have donated to so many worthwhile businesses and charities for different events. We have participated in Children’s Day at the Mall. We have donated to Toys for Tots, we have sponsored families at Christmas time. We have given Prizes to different  fundraisers, etc.  We have loved and supported everyone in the past and we will continue to do so in the future as long as the business can move through this tough time.

With Covid-19, Funland has faced so many challenges just like other small businesses. Funland has been closed for almost the whole entire year.  We did open for 3 weeks towards the end of October and the beginning of November.  We were shut down again and have since reopened right before Christmas.  We have been applying for assistance and grants and federal funding and we were successful for one grant and money from the Federal PPP program that totaled $7,000.00.  We have about exhausted our savings trying to keep the Funland afloat.  Business has been slow due to this pandemic and we are not able to pay our bills.  We are following all the guidelines that were asked of us and I know people are scared to come out and afraid of getting this virus and we want to assure you that you are coming back to a clean safe environment just like you have in the past.  We have always been that company that has taken pride in our cleanliness and safety.   We are cleaning and sanitizing all the time like we have in the past as well as the hand sanitizing is a must before you can enter the Funland whether taking a tour, coming in for a birthday party or to play.  We also have a new machine that has been designed to kill germs in the air and sanitize everything in the Funland.

 

We are asking for some help to keep us open.  Our employees are seeing us struggle and are offering to work for less money to help keep the doors open.  They love their jobs and want to see us stay open.  They are struggling due to the lack of hours available because the mall had to change their hours due to Covid-19 as well.  We hope the hours will change soon.  We are open, we are slow and its not helping the bills, we are going backwards.  The money coming in is not enough to pay our rent, utilities, etc.  Any help would be appreciated. We have not raised our prices (open bounce $5.00 per child per hour or $10.00 per child for 3 hours Adults are Free) since we have been opened because we know how hard it is to find entertainment for the kids at a reasonable price.  Our parties have been the same also including pizza and drinks.  We even have people come in and pay a little here and a little there so they don’t have to come up with the $150.00 all at once.  

 

Covid-19 has hurt so many businesses and people and we are not the only ones.  Small businesses are suffering all over the country.  We are no better than them, we just love what we do and we love children and smiles and we really want to stay in business.  So please help us out and give if you can.

 

If we make our goal, we will be having some Funland customer appreciation days where anyone can come in and play for free for helping us stay open.
