Help save Tasmania's only accredited Zoo

Tasmania Zoo is a family owned zoo, funded purely by visitors. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are now closed, therefore we now have no income. Our dedicated team of animal care and zoo keepers are still here daily but we need your help too.

Opening in 2003 exhibiting birds and a small number of native species, we have since grown to feature the largest collection of native and exotic wildlife in Tasmania. We are home to over 1500 animals, many of which are recognized on both an international and national level as threatened, endangered or critically endangered.

Tasmania Zoo is the only animal welfare accredited zoo in Tasmania, participating in species management programs for Sumatran Tiger, Cheetah, African Painted Dog, White-Cheeked Gibbon, Golden Lion Tamarin and many more.

Devil’s Heaven is our dedicated conservation breeding program, home to a successful breeding population of Eastern Province Tasmanian Devils for over 15 years.  

We are dedicated to continuous contribution to wildlife conservation and to the education of the community at large. We are also committed to caring for injured and orphaned wildlife, some of which are unable to be returned to the wild so are provided a safe place to live at Tasmania Zoo.

Donations to this page will aid in the costs of treatments/medications and feeding over 40 Tasmanian Devils and 1500 native and exotic species, many of which require a very specific diet consisting of specialty foods and supplements.  

We realize this is a very tough time for everyone worldwide, both mentally and financially. If you are able, please help us to ensure our doors reopen. Any donation big or small will help, we will be very grateful. 

If donations exceed requirements, we will direct excess into our conservation projects.
