HI my name is Stella i am 7 months old, Im a Tea cup yorkie. I was diagnosed with a Portosystemic (Liver) Shunt. This is a congenital malformation of the liver circulation, blood travels from the GI tract to general circulation bypassing the liver. One of the livers function is to maintain the blood sugar level. In my case this shunt causes me to have low blood sugar.This all can be cured with surgery. I have had all the blood work and testing done and i'm ready for surgery. I would love to live a happy normal life and so would my owners. They love me very much. I have a baby sister names LoLa who is also a Yorkie. i cant have treats or have to much play time b/c if i get stressed out from playing to hard i can have a seizure from the low blood sugar . I am to young to be on 4 medications for the rest of my life and Prescription diet food. If i don't have this surgery soon the next time i have seizure caused from low blood sugar i will have to be put to sleep :( . Only because i will keep getting sicker. so please help me live a normal puppy life. My owners and i would greatly appreciate any help we can get.
