Help save Screen Education
Deducible
There is no other publication in Australia like Screen Education. For twenty-four years, the magazine has played an essential role in Australian screen culture and the development of media-literacy skills among young people. Whether it be teaching key science concepts through blockbusters or covering documentaries about climate change and the refugee experience, we provide study guides and analytical articles on a wide range of classroom-appropriate film, television and new-media texts – essential resources for students and teachers alike.
Due to lack of funding and institutional support, however, the immediate future of Screen Education is looking increasingly uncertain. We are seeking to keep afloat by transitioning into an online-only publication, but we need your support to be able to do so. Our goal is to raise $38,000, which will go a long way towards covering:
· Web hosting and format conversion to an online magazine
· Payments for writers
· Remuneration for editor and designer
We would be immensely grateful for any contribution you feel you can offer. As ATOM is a registered charity with DGR status, all donations will be tax-deductible.
In contributing to this campaign, you won’t only be helping to keep a cherished and much-needed publication alive – you will also be investing in the preservation of Australian screen literacy in the years to come. We are deeply thankful for your support of Screen Education over the years, and hope that there are many more chapters in our story still to come.
