Help Save Pops! #PrayersforPops

Pops (aka KittenoftheKorn) is a rescue kitty we have had in the family for the past 5 years. He is a sweet, loving, charismatic young animal with lots of life ahead of him. For those that know Pops, know he is a fun and lively cat.

Recently Pops was diagnosed as a blocked Tom, which means he had a urethral obstruction where his bladder had a calcium build-up that caused stones. According to VRCC, "A urethral obstruction prevents urine from exiting the body and can become a painful and dangerous condition in just one or two days. A complete blockage (no urine getting through) can cause irreversible damage to the kidneys and can even cause death."

We were at the point where Pops hadn't peed for a whole day. It was looking like his condition was irreversible and that he needed to be put down. As I was signing his euthanization paperwork, by the grace of God, he peed on us right after. I have never been happy to be peed on besides at this moment!

The vet has recommended he stays in the hospital for three days. This hospitalization can ensure that the blockage does not come right back. Initially, when this first happened on Monday, we paid to have his blockage removed and we took him home. Sadly, it came right back, and that is when he hadn't peed for the whole day until we got to the vet. This hospitalization is very important for Pops to ensure he can be a healthy cat. It includes the necessary bloodwork, x-rays, medication, and treatment to remove the build-up completely so that he can have a happy life. Out of all the blocked toms our vet has treated, only one had built up after a hospitalization, so things are looking good for Pops IF he can stay in the hospital for three days.

Right now, we have paid $500 to remove his initial blockage and we need $2,000 to keep him in the hospital. This is more than we have right now, so we are reaching out to you to help. If you can, please help save Pops. We will have to pick him up tonight if we can't afford to keep him in these three days. By the way things have gone already, we can see how vital this hospital stay is for him. Cats can live past 20 years, and Pops is only 5! We know if we can get him past this hurdle, he has a long, healthy life ahead of him.
