I am Zuowei, one of the owners of Pi BBQ & Bar, a small locally owned Korean BBQ restaurant in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia. My business partners and I opened Pi BBQ at the end of last October after nearly three years of permit delays, build-out delays, and rising costs. By the time we finally opened, we had already used so much money, time, and energy just to reach opening day. Since opening, we have done everything we can to keep going, but we have struggled under the weight of rent, utilities, food costs, loans, and other unexpected business challenges. We also faced repeated false reports and review attacks that made it even harder for a new restaurant to survive. Still, every Arlington County Health Department inspection we went through was passed. We have always worked hard to keep our restaurant clean, safe, and responsible. Now our landlord is preparing to send our account to an attorney and begin the eviction process, and we are asking for emergency help to keep our doors from closing.
Your support will go directly toward the most urgent bills needed to keep Pi BBQ & Bar open, including past-due rent, storage rent, electricity, utilities, and essential operating costs. Most importantly, these funds will help us work to stop the eviction process before it moves forward. If we can catch up on the urgent balance, we will have a real chance to relaunch Pi BBQ with a simpler menu, a more affordable BBQ option, and a better customer experience. Any donation, share, or future visit means more than you know. Thank you for giving our small business one more chance to survive, rebuild, and continue serving the Arlington community.
