Help Save Mochrum Fell from a wind farm

Mochrum Fell proposed Wind farm – 7 x 149.9m to blade tip - Application by Falck Renewable Wind Ltd

We are asking for your help in preventing the seven turbine wind farm at Mochrum Fell near Corsock being approved at Appeal. The first Mochrum Fell application was refused, granted at Appeal but not built. The second one for larger turbines has gone to Appeal for non-determination by Dumfries & Galloway Council who have not provided a formal response due to their workload, so it is now left to the Help Save Mochrum Fell group, as a third party, to represent the local community at the Appeal. Falck has limitless money and plenty of experts, so the contest is very unequal.

We have secured the services of a QC who is prepared to work at discounted rates, along with a consultant planner and a consultant landscape architect.

Even at these rates we will need to raise £10k to £15k by February 2022.

The purpose of this letter is to sound out your willingness to be part of the Help Save Mochrum Fell group to enable us to present a strong case at the Oral Hearing in the New Year – there are more than 600 objectors and objections from nine Community Councils who represent 6627 residents.

To redress the balance and try our very hardest to keep turbines off Mochrum Fell, would you agree

1. To be a named member of the group called Help Save Mochrum Fell.

2. To give anything you can towards the cost of experts.

3. To contribute any expertise that you have – photography, map making, wildlife, recreation, countryside experience, fundraising, administration, management, PR – the list goes on!

4. To lend your support through to an Oral Hearing until this case is finally determined.

5. To help restore fairness to the decision making process.
