Help With Mary's Medical Bills
Donation protected
I am posting this on behalf of my brother and sister-in-law.
I remember trying to get ahold of my baby brother; but, he hasn't answered his phone for days. Then finally one day he called me back with very grim news: my sister-in-law, Mary, was in the hospital. Immediately I thought it had to have been COVID-19. She was struggling to breathe, she was bloated, and her doctors said she had had a heart attack. Sounds like some of the COVID-19 cases we hear horror stories about.
Since then, Mary has been in and out of the hospital (5 times in the past two months alone). We have since learned that Mary has scleroderma. Scleroderma, or systemic sclerosis, is a chronic connective tissue disease generally classified as one of the autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Just two months ago she was healthy, working, and caring for her family. Now, just two months later, she is frail and unable to use her hands. With fluid building in her lungs and around her heart, her family is now caring for her.
Mary did not have a heart attack, thank God. However, her kidneys are not working and she requires dialysis three times per week. My brother is not working during these uncertain and unseen times; and, as medical bills come in, he is spending all of the family savings (retirement accounts, rare coins, etc) on required medical care. In addition to paying all of these medical bills, my brother is still trying to maintain his home, eat, and pay his everyday bills.
My brother and his family need help. I know during these uncertain times that we are all in need of something; however, anything you can give will help.
God bless, and thank you!
