Help save the Howard family home!!! Melvin and Lori Howard are both permanently disabled. Mel is suffering from heart failure and fighting an ongoing battle with injuries sustained in a car accident. Lori is stricken with Multiple Sclerosis, Arthritis and Glaucoma. She is legally, Blind.
Our mortgage must be reinstated! We urgently need your help to get our outstanding mortgage of $13,934 paid in full. The $13,934 will help us get the mortgage back on track. In addition, it will help us maintain our family growth plans which include downsizing our home and assisting our 18 yr. old son, Jamel with his college aspirations.
Our combined illnesses led to our financial hardship. The mortgage fell behind after medical emergencies. Mel was rushed to Sunrise Hospital Emergency to be treated for heart problems. After many tests, including an angiogram, it was determined that Mel was a high risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). He was diagnosed with “heart failure” and had to get advanced emergency heart care.
He was hospitalized for 4 days and then released with a wearable defibrillator so that his heart could be monitored 24/7. The Life Vest (defibrillator) not only enabled the doctor to monitor Mel’s heart, but it also gave Mel the freedom to return to his daily living activities. It also gave everyone a peace of mind that he was being protected from SCA!
Lori discovered that she could barely see and barely walk. Her vision worsened and she began experiencing severe pain in the knees and joints when attempting to walk, stand, or sit. She now needs physical therapy.
Mel and Lori have Social Security Disability Income. They are 54 years old and have three children ages 18, 21, and 22. Our son, Jamel, is preparing for college and our daughters are busy with their college studies at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) and the College at Fort Bragg. Al-Nisa (22) is at CSN and Kamilah (21) is in the Army at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
