Help Save Dune!

Donation protected
Please help save my puppy Dune.  He is a 1-year-old Rhodesian mix from Baja, Mexico, who I rescued in March of last year.  Last week, he began acting very lethargic and we took him to a routine vet visit to check his vitals.

Dune's vitals came back with extremely high kidney levels.  He was just released from the ICU at the VCA Animal Specialty Group hospital after being hospitalized for four days.  Currently, he has received care from an internist who performed an ultrasound to check his kidneys, he received a blood transfusion as his red blood cell count dropped, and he was given 24 hr care at the hospital.  The vets have determined that a severe bacterial infection from two different strains of tick disease is the cause.  Dune will be on a month of antibiotics and will have permanent kidney damage.

Dune's current vet bill is $10,838.67.

As Dune has been an otherwise healthy, playful, active, and normal puppy, we do not have vet insurance and are paying everything out of pocket.  He returned from intensive care and was being closely monitored at home on an intense antibiotic and kidney-aiding regime with the aid of the VCA.  He returned to the hospital and was admitted 4/13 for elevated bloodwork.

Any amount donated will help to save his life and hopefully give us many more years with our wonderful, sweet and happy Dune.
