Our lovely friend Anita (2011 Graduate of University of Buckingham UK), a caring and reliable friend, who always has kind words for everyone she knows is in urgent need of a PET scan to determine whether she has pancreatic cancer (VIPoma).
She has a serious medical condition suspected to be VIPoma cancer, a rare type of endocrine tumor ( 1 in 10,000,000 per year) in the pancreas. The current costs of her treatment to prepare her for the PET scan are £600.00/month for medication; £1200.00 for the hospital care leading to the PET scan; and the PET scan will cost around £2,700.00, a total of £4,500.00.
She was first diagnosed in October 2017 with acute pancreatitis. She was passed on from hospital to hospital with no clear diagnosis or proper care. She now has chronic pancreatitis. She has since lost 33kg and continues to lose weight rapidly. She can only digest a very small amount of food each day and her body is covered in unexplained bruises and rashes. She is in unbearable pain 24/7 and relies on painkillers to get by each day.
We are hoping to raise £10,000.00 to cover these medical costs for at least the next 7-8 months as she has no other income and relies solely on donations at this point of her life.
Following the PET scan, the medics will be able to assign an appropriate treatment for Anita to deal with her exact health problems in an efficient manner.
