Help Save Anas and Rawand

Please help our small group to raise funds to help to save Anas and his wife Rawand who are stuck in Gaza. Rawand suffers from a kidney ailment which has left her very poorly, and Anas is doing his best to look after her in appalling circumstances. Please donate to our cause, and please pass this site on to as many people as you can. Here is Anas' story:

"My name is Anas. I once sought refuge in Gaza, escaping the horrors of war that plagued my homeland, Syria. Now tragedy has struck again, forcing me to flee once more and to become a refugee for the second time. As you read these words, I am frantically navigating from hospital corridors to makeshift medical tents, desperately seeking medication to alleviate the suffering of my wife, who is Palestinian. She is battling a chronic illness exacerbated by the scarcity of essential medications, further adding to the challenges we face. Gaza, which was once a sanctuary from death, now echoes with the grim sounds of fear, hunger, and suffering, shaping our daily existence. After more than four months of enduring the harsh realities of conflict, I am reaching out to you today, humbly seeking your support during this challenging time.

When I arrived in this coastal community, I found solace and employment in the restaurant industry. I worked as a chef and bringing the flavours of Aleppo to this new home. But my hopes were shattered when my restaurant fell victim to bombing raids, mirroring the hardships endured by the Gazans.

Your generosity and kindness can make a world of difference during this trying time. Every contribution, regardless of its size, brings us one step closer to easing the burden of our plight and allows me to secure the safety of my wife and myself by escaping the war zone.

بعد أكثر من أربعة أشهر، ألجأ إليكم اليوم بدعوة متواضعة لدعمي في هذه اللحظة الصعبة. أجدها فترة تعج بالحزن للمدينة التي استضافتني بقلب مفتوح عندما فررت من فزع الحرب في وطني، سوريا. غزة كانت ملجأي من هول الموت، ولكن للأسف، الواقع اليوم يصوغ حياتنا اليومية بمشاهد الموت، الخوف، الجوع، والمعاناة.

في غزة، وجدت عملاً في قطاع

المطاعم، حيث قمت بأداء دوري كطاهٍ، جلبت نكهات حلب إلى هذا المجتمع الساحلي. ولكن، كل تطلعاتي تحطمت عندما أصبح مطعمي ضحية للقصف الجوي. حكايتي تتقاطع مع حكاية أهل غزة، والصعوبات التي يتحملونها تثقل كاهلي.

بينما تقرؤون هذه الكلمات، أنا أتنقل بين أروقة المستشفيات وخيم العلاج المؤقتة، بحثاً عن دواء لتخفيف معاناة زوجتي التي تكافح مرضاً مزمناً، تفاقم بسبب ندرة الأدوية الأساسية.

إن سخاءكم ولطفكم يمكن أن يحدثا فرقاً هائلاً في هذا الوقت الصعب. كل مساهمة، صغيرة كانت أم كبيرة، تقربنا خطوة أخرى نحو تخفيف عبء محنتنا وتمكنني من إخراج زوجتي ونفسي من هذا الوضع.
