HELP SAVE ADAM'S LIFE

 Today we come to you to ask for your help for a little boy who is 11 years old, who loves baseball, enjoys the outdoors, has a contagious smile and is as bright as a star. His name is Adam Figueroa, born in Portland Maine, he lives in South Portland, Maine. He has two older brothers and a younger sister who love him very much and are looking forward to having him back home.

 Adam is currently fighting for his life in an ICU in the Dominican Republic. As we know, tragedy strikes when we least expect it. Adam was with his mom in a small town called Sabana Iglesias in Santiago, DR. where they have been staying awaiting his mom’s immigration process to be completed so that she could reenter the US. Adam would not leave his mom alone in the DR until “she comes home with him” (Adam’s words) he stayed behind to help and protect his mom. On the evening of Oct. 9th His mom went to the store for a few minutes to get him some food, when she came back she found Adam unconscious bleeding from his head, mouth, nose and leg. Adam had gotten into a motorcycle accident and everything just went downhill from there, because of that accident, Adam ended up with skull fractures (needing a head surgery), a broken leg and trauma to his lungs (after inhaling vomit and blood into them).  After some back and forth pleading with the emergency room attendants, they agreed to admit him under the conditions that they get 500k Pesos ($USD 10ks) by the morning. The family pulled together about 5ks, but is still short the rest. 

 Adam is in very delicate conditions and needs all the help he can get; the hospital bill is growing by the minute. We have exhausted all possible resources to pay his bills but have ran out of funds and the hospital is not budging, it is a typical practice that the clinics in the DR. will require the patient to pay upfront to receive medical attention, “Pay First” type of deal. The charges are averaging about $USD 1500 Per day, the hospitals “policy” does not allow for much negotiation and as a result if the debt is not paid, the Clinic will not provide him with the care he needs. There is no definite time frame as to when he will be taken out of ICU. The goal is to take care of Adam and get him stable enough to where he could eventually be brought back to the US for any further treatment he may need and ensure his recovery. Adams precious life is at risk. Therefore, we are asking you, kindly, for your financial assistance for Adam to receive the medical care he needs and deserves.
