Help Save 104 year old Matriarch's home and care

Donation protected
This wonderful woman has been the cornerstone of our family and has remained as such into her 104th year of touching people's lives.  All of her life, she has opened her home and her heart to family, friends and even strangers.  She assisted with reading to young children in her local church until she was 93 yrs. old. This generous lady is now in the need of help from the generosity of those that love her and those who can assist in helping.

It is hard to plan to live to be 100 so you can imagine the difficulty of planning to live to 104 and beyond.  Unfortunately, this is now the case for my grandmother as she has nearly run out of money to support her in-home nursing care which insurance does not cover.  If we are unable to raise the $16,000 per month for her care, she will lose her home of over 60 years and she will have to be moved to a skilled nursing facility an hour away from her home in Delaware.

Such a move away from everything that is familiar to her will surely agitate, upset and confuse her; thus negatively impacting her fragile health.

Even in her failing health, she remains steadfast in her pursuit to bring happiness to others.  Often when she is feeling up to it, she will sit on the front porch or the deck outside and greet the many people that pass by on their daily walks.

By living to 104 years old, my grandmother has survived many of life's hurdles.  She is a cancer survivor and is both legally blind and deaf. She has lost her parents, all of her siblings, her husband and 3 of her 4 wonderful children. She has been immensely resilient through her years and a shining example of humanity.  She has passed those values to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren!  Two of her three sons were military veterans, who served with honor, and always made her proud, as have her other children.

I could go on and on about my grandmother and the effects she has had on everyone she has met.  What I'm hoping to do with this request is give back to her just a little bit of what she's given to everyone else.  Our last hope to keep her in good spirits for her remaining days with us, is to rely on the generosity of anyone who can help us keep her in her home with the care she deserves.

Thank you for anything that you can contribute towards keeping my grandmother in her home and in the care of the wonderful nurses that have grown to love her as much as everyone else that has been touched by her throughout the years.
