Help Savannah Breathe Easier

Savannah Wallace’s Story

Savannah needs your support and help so she can breathe easier.

Savannah is a brave 17 year old teenager that enjoys life to the fullest. She has never let any health challenges get in the way of achieving her dreams--- from continuing through High School and hoping to go to college someday to become a nurse. She is a very brave, intelligent, encouraging, lit up young girl, outgoing, independent, caring, thoughtful, respectful, and a loving teenager. Savannah has a positive outlook on life and with all of the encouragement she has received help that has helped her thrive in life. She’s at the point now she is needing a double lung transplant. Savannah’s lungs are functioning at a 31% and it’s hard for her to breathe. She needs our help.

Savannah was born with a progressive, genetic disease called Cystic Fibrosis. This disease causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time...In the lungs, the thick mucus clogs the airway and traps germs, like bacteria, leading to infections, inflammation, respiratory failure, and other complications. This disease affects different parts of the body as well. You couldn’t look at her and tell that she has something wrong with her. Her lungs has deteriorated over the last 17 years of her life to the point she is now facing a double lung transplant. Savannah's last hospital stay was rough. She almost died 3 times due to her lungs collapsing and making it extremely hard to breathe. Savannah and her family will be relocating from Alabama to Houston, Texas for the evaluation then waiting on the results and then Hopefully hear that the transplant can take place and get a donor for her and then the big step to do is the actual transplant. We’re asking for family and friends to come forward in helping us with fundraisers to help with the critical expenses. There is an account setup in Honor of Savannah at Bank Independent. The account is under Wendy Wallace/Team Savannah any donations can be made out to this account or dropped by any branch of Bank Independent. Savannah will be hospitalized for 6 - 8 weeks then released from the hospital. She is required to stay within a 25 mile radius of the hospital. This is for the safety of Savannah’s health. Savannah, her parents and a driver will be required to stay a minimum of 100 days if not longer to reassure that the organ will not be rejected.

PLEASE! Help us raise money for Team Savannah. We need to raise $30,000. I’m asking for everyone to pull together and help us raise the money for this precious child. All she is asking for is to be able to breathe easier. Savannah has health insurance that will help with the hospital expense but she will have co-pays for hospitalization and medicines for the rest of her life. We will also need extra assistance with transportation, due to her and her parents being visually impaired. We will need a family member or a close friend to stay with us 24 hours a day, just in case Savannah has problems with her new lungs. The donations will go toward lodging, food, and transportation.

The donations will help ease the financial burden of a transplant, which allows us as her  parents to focus on a healthy recovery for Savannah. Help us make this possible and spread the word near and wide.

                                                           Thanks!
