Help Sarge Regain Mobility!
Sarge had to be sedated for proper X-rays because of his pain today.
Moral of the story, it looks like his previous surgery wasn’t necessarily done correctly as they left the femoral neck intact instead of removing it with the femoral head.
With that being said, he needs to either has a revised FHO or a Total Hip replacement. Quoted $2,600-$7,000 depending on which procedure.

Meet Sarge! This sweet boy is only 8 months old and has had a difficult life so far. While under the care of his previous owners, he managed to get hit by a car on two different occurrences. The first accident just resulted in road rash, however the second accident resulted in a broken hip. His owners surrendered him and a good Samaritan stepped in to pay for his FHO surgery, and placed him in a foster home during recovery.
On July 11th 2021, our family adopted Sarge. We took him back to his surgeon on July 14th for a recheck as he wasn’t putting much weight on it. After taking x-ray's we were told unfortunate information regarding his recovery. He is not healing properly and he will need to have another surgery. We currently have a surgery consultation scheduled with MedVet for next week. The options we were told were he either needs a FHO revision, a total hip replacement, or amputation. We are heart broken for Sarge. I feel as if we crossed paths with this sweet boy for a reason and he seriously deserves the best chance at life. We know we have a long road ahead of us along with vet bills. If you cannot donate, please share his story.
