Help Sandra Hopwood and Family to Recover

Picking a category for this campaign was entirely too difficult, because The Hopwood family has been plagued with problems for the better part of the past year. While 2020 was a terrible year for us all, Sandra and her family have gone through truly heartbreaking and difficult times.
The purpose of this campaign is to provide Sandra and her family with some type of relief from the many disasters that they have faced. To name a few, Sandra's husband Delroy was involved in a hit and run accident. This, by itself would not have been so horrifying, however as a result - he was left with internal bleeding and a hole in his intestine that the doctors missed in his initial CT Scan. He was forced to undergo emergency surgery to stop his body from poisoning itself and he nearly lost his life had he not returned to the hospital in time.
Most recently, her sister Vickie was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and the doctor's gave her no more than two weeks to live. She has lost her battle with liver cancer and is Sandra's second sister to pass away in the past three years.
If things could not get worse, Sandra contracted COVID-19 while trying to spend as much time with Vickie as she could before she would succumb to her illness. She spent more than two weeks in the hospital ICU on a ventilator and almost lost her own life. Miraculously, she was able to recover enough to be sent home. While she is no longer in the hospital, her road to full recovery is truly far from over.
At a time when we are all truly lucky to have our health and our lives, Sandra's family has suffered severe losses and near losses across the board. They need our help in tackling the mounting combined costs of medical bills and memorial expenses that any of us would shudder at the thought of having to face.
