Help Samantha with Revision Surgery Expenses
Donation protected
Hey everyone, it me, Sam. If you're reading this - thanks for making it this far. I'm raising money for a revision surgery that is a follow up to my Gender Reassignment Surgery that I had in 2018. Luckily, healing and recovery will be much easier this time around - but it is a medical necessity to deal with some of the issues I've faced since then.
My original surgeon has worked me into her very busy calendar, and the date is sooner than I expected. If I don't take it now I'm not sure when the next chance will be, and it is likely I'll lose transition-related coverage in my health care plan in the very near future.
Going through a divorce has depleted any savings I have. My credit cards are carrying loads of lawyer bills that I still can't pay down as the divorce isn't finalized. My health care deductible for the year (which just started) is $3000, after which I'm still responsible for 20%. I'm expecting the cost of the procedure to come to $4800 based on the paperwork I've received from the surgeon's office. (Side note: my out of pocket max is $8,000, on a plan that costs me over $500/month - what the heck, US health care plans??)
I also need to get to San Francisco and find lodging for a week while I recover. The rest of the goal amount is to help cover those expenses.
