Help Samantha Beat Sarcoma Cancer

Donation protected
Together, we can help Samantha (Sami) kick Ewing Sarcoma Cancer’s butt. Sami is a beautiful, intelligent, strong willed 21-year-old young lady who was just beginning to set out on her own path with a career as a cosmetologist.  This request is from the hearts of so many who love, support and are praying for Sami.

Since a young age, Samantha’s first love was horses. She started riding when she was 5, and was soon competing at local barrel racing events.  She is an exceptional rider. Her love for horses and competing has made her into the determined, mentally strong and very loving person she is today.  Her family, friends and God are of the upmost importance to her. So much so that she has volunteered every summer at the Cross Trails Rodeo Bible camp. Her ability to connect to young girls and boys is amazing. She has a way of bringing hope and confidence to every young girl and boy that comes in contact with her.

In late 2017, she noticed what she thought was a cyst on the bottom of her big toe. Not really worrying about it, she went off to college pursuing a degree as a veterinarian technical assistant. What she thought was a “cyst” grew at a very rapid rate.  It was thought to be a benign tumor, and arrangements were made to remove the tumor. On June 5th, 2018, Sami’s world was changed. She had a surgery to remove what was thought to be a cyst, but ended up being cancer.

It was at this time that Sami’s life took a rapid turn. The tumor was found to be an extremely rare, very aggressive type of bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma. There are less than 1000 cases per year in the US. Following a CT scan and MRI, it was found that the cancer had metastasized, and there were 2 separate spots on her left lung. Since Ewing Sarcoma cancer is an aggressive form of cancer, a very aggressive approach to treatment has to be taken. On August 9th, Samantha entered the University of Kansas Sarcoma Cancer Center, and had to have her left big toe amputated.

After just 11 days, on August 20th, Samantha began her 28 week cycle of chemotherapy, which will take over a year. Due to the extreme aggressiveness of the treatment, Samantha will be required to stay in the Kansas City area during her cycle weeks. Over the next year, she will not be able to work, and will be faced with many financial difficulties.  Samantha does not have the finances to pay for the level of medical treatment necessary.

Her family and friends are providing as much financial support as possible, but everyone realizes that this cannot be done alone. Please spread the word. Help Samantha defeat this cancer. Please contribution as little, or as much, as you can. Every contribution helps Samantha kick cancer’s butt! In addition, prayers are much appreciated, as many are praying continuously. Your assistance will be so appreciated.
