Help Sally Get a Leg Up on Cancer

We are starting this go fund me page on behalf of our parents Rick and Sally Beale.
Sally is one of those people who maintain a positive attitude and fighting spirit even in the face of great adversity and hardship. Anyone who knows or meets Sally can easily attest to this fact, and should be inspired by her strength.
We’ll go back a couple of years to set the stage.
In 2011 Rick and Sally lost their home and most of their possessions due to the flood waters of Tropical Storm Lee. Not wanting to leave the area they called home for 36+ years they rebuilt, but this time raising the home above the flood plain. The rebuild took about 2 years to complete and they were finally home again.
Then in fall of 2014 Sally was diagnosed with Wegener’s disease, an auto immune disease that causes inflammation of small blood vessels in certain organs of the body. In her case it attacked her pancreas leaving her a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic and on special medication and treatments to keep the Wegener’s in check.
As if that wasn’t enough, we arrive at today.
Sally was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme (malignant) brain tumor in October 2017. This tumor was pushing on the area of the brain that controls the function of her left foot. Prior to the surgical removal of the tumor it had already permanently damaged her left foot. After surgery and rehab she is able to get around a little better but there is a need for an outdoor chair lift to assist her to enter and exit their home. One of the unfortunate circumstances of raising their home above flood plain level is that many steps are required to enter and exit.
Sally is also undergoing chemo and radiation and has many medical bills from those treatments and her surgery. In addition Sally had to quit her job at Weis Markets and her husband, Rick, had to take a leave of absence from his job to function as her caregiver so they do not have any income. This Go Fund Me page has been created to help assist with the cost of the necessary chair lift, large medical bills, and loss of incomes.
