Help Saladin Simmons Get Home
Donation protected
My father, Saladin Simmons, recently went on a vacation to Cancun, Mexico. While there he fell ill, suffered a stroke due to a brain aneurysm, and was hospitalized at Victoria Medical Center September 1st. He was refused treatment until he paid his medical bill. He was ultimately transferred to a general hospital in Mexico, which has less tools, medication, and skills to preform the survey necessary for his recovery.
Transport to Florida is ideal because the US medical systems work entirely different than the systems in Mexico. My father is in need of surgery to stop multiple brain bleeds. He is currently in stable condition, provided by limited resources from the medical institutions available to him . We hope he doesn't take a turn for the worst because that would mean he'd have to undergo emergency surgery at the original hospital which turned him away because of his inability to fund treatment costs. They are charging him day by day and it is hard for us to ensure he receives care without having the cash up front.
My family and I are trying to raise enough money for him to be transported State-side. Given the current weather conditions, family members are unable travel to his bedside, since many flights are being canceled or delayed. The flight home would cause too much pressure on his brain, with doctors predicting he'd bleed out internally. Any amount of donations will go a long way to help us pay his medial balance so they will release him. Getting transportation to the US, cost are astronomical. We are asking family, friends, and anyone willing to help by giving whatever they feel comfortable with, in the hope of bringing him back home soon, safe, and alive.
