Help Ruthy Rebuild

Hello Family and Friends,

Late last night mum (or Ruthy to the rest!) was very quickly evacuated from her home due to rapidly rising water.
She's lost everything, except her sense of humour (and right now even that's fading fast!)

With no time to save anything, she had to leave her place with just a change of clothes and a couple of things she could throw in a bag at the last minute. 

Still unable to to return today and with waters expected to rise even further, its evident that already she has lost everything. Neighbours have reported her car is near fully submerged which means that everything in her caravan home will also be under water. All lost to flood waters.

Having recently left a very difficult marriage, everything she was able to leave with was bundled up into the caravan. Along with all of her belongings, all the family memories, photos, treasures and trinkets are now lost. 

None of this is insured or covered due to unknowingly being settled in a flood zone (who could have imagined this?)

There is still no access to assess the damage but we dont believe there will be much left to salvage as there is still more rain to come and tides rising.

This leaves mum homeless and without a way to get to and from work whilst she tries to rebuild and find her feet again. 

We know she will get through this, she's a tough cookie our Ruthy (her new life has really only just begun) 

But right now, finding immediate accommodation and having financial support to gather simple things of toiletries, clothing, shoes to get her going until she can plan a way forward. 

Your generous gift will be going towards emergency short term rental accommodation, replacing work uniforms and shoes so she can return to work as quickly as possible. 

If you are not in a position to give financially, once mum is able to find dry land she will be in need of furniture and household items (basically everything, starting from scratch) so please keep her in mind for such things. (anyone got a spare caravan floating around?!!)


Friends and family, if you have the capacity to give, even the smallest amount, its going to go a long way to showing Ruthy how much we love her and is a wonderful opportunity return the many favours that she is famous for dishing out to those around her. 

It's our chance to love on her as much as she has loved on all of us.
