Help Ruthann. They lost everything in a fire.

Just before 1 am on Monday September 16, 2019, retired Worcester Principal (Elm Park Elementary School) and Teacher Ruthann Melancon and her significant other, John Thomas, and their 9 year old Bulldog named Bijou, woke up to the smoke alarm alerting them that their apartment was on fire. They grabbed their clothes and ran out the door. As you can see in the video they lost everything in the fire but are lucky to have escaped with their lives. Ruthann is not only my friend, she is also a friend to so many others in the Worcester Public School system and education community.  She is also one of my mother's best friends. What many do not know is that Ruthann is also fighting her third bout of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis,  a disorder in which excess immune system cells called Langerhans cells build up in the body. Langerhans cells, which help regulate the immune system, are normally found throughout the body, especially in the skin, lymph nodes, spleen, lungs, liver, and bone marrow. Ruthann and has been receiving treatment at The Dana Farber Institute in Boston since 2012, when she was diagnosed. They have been plagued with large medical bills. They live simply and quietly. Now they are living in a neighbors bedroom.  Please help and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE. Lets show our educators that we care about them even after they leave teaching and caring for our children.
