Ruby is our sweet 11-week-old Cavapoo puppy, and she’s already brought so much love and joy into our home. We have 3 autistic kiddos and we had to put our dog down 5 days ago. She was sick and 14yrs old. We were all heartbroken, and wanted a puppy so badly. When we found Ruby, it felt like everything fell into place. The price was affordable, since we are on a tight budget; due to ABA Therapy, counseling, and dr visits we provide for our 3 kiddos on the spectrum. Ruby is very affectionate, mellow, and has quickly become part of our family. In just a couple of days, she’s learned to go potty outside, is crate trained, and hasn’t had a single accident in the house.

Tragically, just two days after bringing her home, Ruby fell down our stairs and broke her back left leg. We rushed her to the ER vet, where they diagnosed her with a broken femur. Now, she can’t walk on her back leg, and the vet told us that surgery is urgent if we want to save her leg. The cost of the surgery is more than we can afford, and our kids are heartbroken, at the thought of not being able to give her the care she needs. The only other option is amputation, which is less expensive, but we want to do everything possible to save her leg and give her the best chance at a happy, active life.
