Help Roz on her long road to recovery

Donation protected
My younger cousin Rosalind Gordon was one of four victims of a deadly head on collision with a drunk driver driving the wrong way on the highway on December 31, 2020 shortly after midnight. She was accompanied by her emotional support animal, Tanner. She was thankfully able to get pulled from the car, but sadly only to find out later that she had to be taken into a 3 1/2 hour extensive surgery shortly after her arrival at the Trauma Center 1 hospital after being transferred from a regular hospital. Upon her arrival to the trauma center, she and Tanner were separated and the pound that was in charge of him...LOST HIM!!!

The accident shattered her tibia and fibula!! These are the only two bones in the lower part of the leg. The surgeons had to use two metal rods to anchor what is left of the bones that were destroyed in this horrific vehicular accident. She also has several pins in both her ankle and knee to stabilize the rods of the leg.

Although the hospital staff took AMAZINGLY great care, she was very distraught about not having Tanner.

Rosalind isn't paralyzed and by the Grace of God is still with us today and myself and my family are beyond thankful and grateful for that. However, she is in for an extremely long road of recovery. She currently can not do most things on her own and must have help. The most heartbreaking example is even holding her youngest without pain. Thankfully, she was able to come home from the hospital just January 5, 2020, for that we are also grateful. But again, it's been a struggle. The medical expenses are honestly the least of our worry at the moment because of the immediate need for so many other things. My sister worked extremely hard in her line of work and was a beyond dedicated employee. She worked as a frontline worker in healthcare as an Administrative Technician, testing for COVID-19 in the  New York City public schools as well as a Members' Satisfaction Representative for Centers Plan for Healthy Living.  Working long hours, volunteering shifts when needed because of the short staffing COVID has left all healthcare facilities with, it's just what she did and who she is. She IS a caregiver and has a huge heart. So for her to be on the receiving end is alone, not an easy task. But, from the walker to the ramps that need built, to toilet-seat raisers all the way to the other end of the spectrum, food, monthly bills, etc, as we all know sadly those things don't and won't stop no matter the emergency. So I HAD to take it upon myself to create this GoFundMe for her and my 4 beautiful cousins.

Rosalind is a dedicated mother to 3 of the most  sweet, kind hearted and happy children around. It breaks my heart to know that my cousin is going to have the struggle.  She is physically, let alone mentally and emotionally in her recovery alone. That said, my hope in creating this, is for those of you who are able to donate to a family in desperate need at this time to alleviate some of the financial burden that will be placed on her as well. And hopefully she will be reunited with Tanner.

From the absolute entirety of my heart as well as hers and my families I thank you for taking the time to read her story. Please share as much as you're able! Thank you all and God Bless!
