Ross's Heart Fund

It all started with swelling and an increased heart rate at one of his regular check-ups. The doctor luckily ordered a stress test to be completed the following week, which informed us that Ross had suffered a mild heart attack at some point, we now believe it happened around May of this year. Following the results of the stress test he was sent to a cardiologist the next week, and he performed an echocardiogram and heart cath. The results were not what we had hoped for. The cardiologist ordered for Ross to wear a life vest, which will shock his heart if he were to go into cardiac arrest, and sent him to see a heart surgeon the next day. The heart surgeon then informed us that Ross has coronary artery disease, resulting in blockages in every artery of his heart, and he is in stage 4 heart failure. His exact words were, " it's surprising you're up walking around." The first step was to get some of the swelling off, to help take some of the strain off of his heart. With all the medications Ross lost 20 lbs of fluid within 6 days. Now the only option is for Ross to have open heart surgery on Tuesday, November 14th. The surgeon said that this will not be a normal bypass surgery. Ross's case is very complicated and it will take at least 2 pumps to help keep his heart going during and after the surgery. He will be in ICU for at least 4 days, and then will remain in the hospital for 1-2 weeks following that. As if all of this news wasn't enough to take in, we were then told that Ross has a very high chance of needing a heart transplant, even if the surgery is successful, it's pretty much just buying him time. We have full faith that God will pull Ross thru this no problem, and he will lead us down the best road possible to get Ross healed. Unfortunately, all of this happened rather suddenly and the last thing we want is for Ross to be stressed out over how he is going to pay bills while he is on this long road to recovering. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Please keep Ross and our family in your prayers!
