Help Rose Attend Culinary School in Ghana

Donation protected
Hi friends!

It's been almost four years since I made a GoFundMe campaign for my old student, Darrah Samson, so that he could buy a laptop to perform his college tasks with ease.

I am thrilled and very proud to announce Darrah is a successful student finishing up his studies in Optometry at the Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana! He is also a research intern for the Dr. Kwadwo Owusu Akuffo (OD, PhD, FAAO) Research Group and I couldn't be happier for him!

With that said, it is Giving Tuesday!

And Darrah has reached out to me in hopes of getting his dear friend, Rose Agbenyuie, the money needed to continue her education and pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a chef!

Rose hails from Hohoe,  just like Darrah, which is located in the Volta Region of Ghana. As most of you know, this town is very near and dear to my heart and I'll never pass up the opportunity to help these students achieve their dreams.

Her request is $635. However, with GoFundMe's fees and transfer fees to Ghana, I have raised the amount to $800 as a safety net and all leftover proceeds will go directly to her & her family.

Below is a letter from Rose.

Let's get her the funds needed for college and make this happen!

Love, love, love,
(Afi) Christina

------------------------------------------

Hi,

My name is Rose Agbenyuie. I graduated high school in 2016 and I’ve engaged in
countless jobs since then to save money for culinary school but it all proved futile
due to financial situations at home.

Everything was moving smoothly earlier this year until the COVID-19 pandemic brought all activities to a halt. Unfortunately, I lost my job and the money I saved towards pursing further studies after high school was used to cater for the needs of the family.

My mom has become the sole breadwinner of the family. She is a trader and the profits she makes are pumped into the welfare of the family. Nothing left to save. I also come from a family of nine (9) where my elderly siblings are self-employed and trying to get a life for themselves. My twin sister, younger sibling, and myself are fighting hard to make it through school.

Ever since I was young, I always wanted to a Chef because of my passion for cooking and serving others. I always carried out the responsibility of cooking at home since childhood till now. Though I pursed the Home Economics (catering) program in high school, I still believe I have so much to learn about being a chef and how to use my gift to create for others.

I am trying to pursue my long time dream of becoming a Professional Chef and all
it takes is $635 to get me into EKGS Culinary Institute here in Ghana and my life
will be transformed tremendously.

The amount raised will be used for my tuition, practical, accommodation fees and
living expenses for one year.

No amount is too small!!

Thank you for donating and sharing!!!

Sincerely,
Rose
