Romeo Dionisio’s Kidney Transplant Fund

Romeo is a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend and an employee. Romeo is normally healthy and had no health issues but in August 2014 he was suddenly diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease secondary to IgA Nephropathy. IGA nephropathy is an autoimmune disease. Romeo’s immune system is attacking the tissues in his kidneys due to an unknown cause. He has undergone series of medical treatment since then but has slowly deteriorated. It progressed to Stage 4 in March 2018 then to stage 5 in February 2019. Hence, requiring dialysis or kidney transplant.

Romeo’s sister lovingly volunteered to be the donor. After series of tests, they are a match. Due to Romeo’s abnormal blood test results prior to the kidney transplant he had to start having dialysis three times a week since February 3, 2020.

The kidney transplant costs $35,000 (approximately 1.2 M Php). Philhealth and his health card will cover more than half of the expenses.  

All funds raised will go to the cost of his kidney transplant, their hospitalisation and medications.  

Philippines is not yet supported by GoFundMe for beneficiaries to withdraw money so Romeo has given me the authorisation to withdraw all the funds raised. I will send all the money withdrawn to his bank account: BPI 3553 3886 34.
