Help Rolands family survive

Donation protected

On June 27th, 2021 Roland was having a family day in the backyard, While jumping on the trampoline with his son, Roland ruptured both patellar tendons (this tendon was completely ripped off the bone in both legs and torn in half at his knee caps). His legs were bent in half not able to move either leg. The ambulance transported Roland to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane WA where doctors had to reset his legs. The following morning, Roland had surgery on both legs where they found extensive damage. He was recently moved to the Veterans’ Hospital in Spokane where he will continue to be for a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks all the while he is allowed NO visitors. The pain he endured that horrible day will continue to be excruciating for years to come. The doctors have said Roland has a very long and painful road to recovery ahead of him. The many doctors and medical staff at Sacred Heart have not seen or heard of both legs rupturing at the same time. Roland will undergo several months of physical therapy just to be able to use his legs again.

Roland is a very hard worker and takes pride in his job with Peninsula Truck Lines. He loves being a Diesel Technician and always strives for perfection. He enjoys being active and is very outgoing, this situation is very hard for him physically and mentally being the main provider for his household. His healing process may go on for years since this accident happened to both legs and not sure of the outcome; whereas, others have had this happen in one leg and still have the use of the other good leg to help support the healing process.

Roland was Active Duty Army for eight years, spending 42 months deployed in combat. He gave his all to protecting and serving our great nation. Now he needs our help, Roland will not be able to work for a long time.

This is a man who would drop everything to help anyone at any time. He is a loving father of two children, Kailee who is fifteen and Roland Jr. who is five. Both children were present and witnessed this horrible accident. It is something that is sticking with them and they are having an incredibly hard time not having their dad at home. His wife, Lanna, was also present for the accident and is holding things down on the home front. He has about 3 months of FMLA pay coming, then after that they will be living on an extremely limited income. He may be out of work for at least a year with possibly having to find another job after he heals. His wife is a full time mom to their 5 year old, if she goes back to work the cost of childcare would out weigh any of that additional income.

Roland is not only a father, husband, friend, brother, uncle, he is a hero.

Thank you to all who have taken the time to read Roland’s story and thank you to ALL who donate.
