Help Richard Rescue Bailey
Donation protected
My son, Richard Nangano, is an amazing person. When he was younger, he was diagnosed with ADHD and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (this form of autism is similar to Asperger's). This has caused him to have severe delays in social skills and emotional expression and regulation. Due to these challenges, Richard is currently unable to work.
Richard has been volunteering at the Flagler Humane Society and their Thrift Store to gain work experience and skills. While volunteering, Richard fell in love and bonded strongly with an older dog named Bailey, who has been there for months. This is exceptional since Richard has never had a friend in his 18 years.
We wold love to adopt Bailey but due to circumstances beyond our control we have a couple barriers. The first barrier is that we need a fence in our back yard. This is due to the fact that our next-door neighbors on either side have dogs that constantly escape. Which brings us to our second obstacle; finances. Just recently, my husband Jay started having heart issues. With multiple ER visits and expensive testing, we are unable to put up the fence at this time. We are, of course, concerned that out inability to help Richard responsibly complete adoption of Bailey now may result in a lost opportunity for an emotional support animal.
Bailey would not only serve as a great companion and support for Richard, but also for his younger brother Ronald, who also shares the same diagnoses.
The funds we are seeking are for the following:
Fence Supplies. $2500
Our home will not be complete until Bailey comes home.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Richard and Bailey
