Help Rich Lane

To expand on what happened, recently, my dad hasn't been feeling well. His illness took away his energy, so much so that he physically could not move and was bedridden for days at a time, leading to muscle loss and bedsores. I hadn't heard from him in a few days and had to call the police to do a wellness check. They let me know that it wasn't pretty. Unfortunately, being unable to properly clean his home and take the animals he loves so dearly out regularly has caused the house to fall into disarray and is an unsafe environment to be in without extensive cleaning.

I came back to Titusville and he was admitted to Titusville Hospital on March 11th with extreme dehydration, jaundice yellow coloring, swelling in the ankles, confusion, and a host of other symptoms. He was unable to fully comprehend what was happening in the moment due to a build up of ammonia in his body. Mom immediately  flew in to see him and hasn't left his side since. On the 12th, they drained a fluid that had been building up in his stomach for months, getting rid of some of that built up ammonia. He was noticeably better and able to converse like normal (we watched Wonder Woman on the tv in his room and we dissected some scenes), albeit a little slower. We haven't been so lucky to have that every day. They transferred him to Erie where they drained him again and removed 20 more lbs. of fluid. Unfortunately, the fluid is not something that will ever just go away. He won't be able to be at full strength again and will need someone to be with him for the rest of his life.

We took in BebeLeia, Freddie, and Wanda. My cousin is holding Carlos while we figure out what's happening. Unfortunately, Leia is a senior dog and lead to a number of the issues at the home, but hey, we love her still.

Dale came up to see him and Linda and Kathleen flew out from Florida with Linda's daughter, Penelope, so my dad could meet his granddaughter for the first time. Right now, they're waiting on a facility in the area to have an open space for him.

He's still the same stubborn man he's always been. At first, we weren't sure he'd be open to the idea of a gofundme. Little did we know that when no one was in the room, he created this without us knowing.

Anything will help, even just sending some love his way.

Thanks everyone! We'll keep you in the loop. - PL

"My name is Rich, I am and I'm in a bit of a jam. I was admitted to the ER last week and have been here ever since. Consequently, with our pets, my lethargy, and my absence, the house is nearly un livable. We checked around, and the least expensive cleaning service is between 3700 and 4000 dollars. I am asking for any help you can can offer. Thank you for in your time in advance." -RL
