Bubba Sullivan was born in the Arkansas Delta in the town of Helena, and raised in the small town of Wabash. Bubba would frequent local juke joints while growing up, forming lasting relationships with many of the pioneers of the Delta Blues. His love for music continued as an adult with Bubba and his friends organizing many local "cookouts" where many local bands and musicians would perform. Throughout the years, Bubba has formed close relationships with many Blues and Rock Icons, including Levon Helm, Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Lockwood, Sam Carr, James Cotton, Frank Frost, Conway Twitty, James Polk Curtis, Dudlow Taylor, Robert Plant, Billy Gibbons, Houston Stackhouse, Joe Willie Wilkins, Robert NighthawkBobby Rush, Max Self, C.W. Gatlin, Jimmy Evans, Ed Burks, and many more. In 1986 Bubba opened Bubba's Blues Corner on Cherry Street in downtown Helena, Arkansas. That same year, he became one of the founding members of the annual King Biscuit Blues Festival, which is still considered by many to be the top blues festival in the world.
Eventually, Bubba Sullivan became the unofficial Ambassador to the Delta Blues. Fans from all over the world and many famous musicians would make the pilgrimage (and return year after year) to the Blues Corner to talk to Bubba and learn about the history of their favorite musicians, many of which Bubba personally knew. Over the years, Bubba has made many lasting friendships and acquired an extensive list of priceless memorabilia relating to the Delta Blues, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly and Country Music.
Recently, Bubba Sullivan has begun to make plans to have Bubba's Blues Corner turned into a museum to house his vast collection of music memorabilia, much of which pertains to the delta region and the early days of the Blues and Rock n Roll. Unfortunately , Bubba's Blues Corner has fallen into disrepair and desperately needs to be restored. Bubba has spent the last decade caring for his late mother and wife, leaving him little time and money to maintain the building that houses the Blues Corner.
