HELP REQUEST FOR YANGSAN DOG FARM

Donation protected

ABOUT US:

Three Korean-American/Canadians friends and rescuers (an artsy New Yorker Se Jung aka "Ivy", an aggressive Vancouver girl, Annie, and a hot-tempered Cali girl Hannah) got together in an effort to end dog meat trade in Korea.  Out of desperation, we decided to start a GoFundMe page at the very last minute. We aired few live stream casts to let people know our next move.

Current expense excludes all medical expenses that will be applied for this rescue. Majority of the dogs are suffering from severe skin diseases such as mange. We are hoping none of them are diagnosed with other diseases such as Heartworm. All of us believe in transparency in fundraising. We will post every receipts and invoices on both GoFundMe page and on all of our social media accounts.

YOUR FUNDS:

We would like to set a good example to other rescue organizations in an attempt to shut down a farm, every expenses should be shared with donors to make sure all of your contributions were spent solely on dogs. All the volunteers participated paid for their own gas, food, and water. This is how it should be. No other operational expense should be spent with your hard earned money.

64 dogs desperately need your help to escape torturous wire cages of death. Your help (whether it be networking, sharing, adopting or donating) can give these loving babies chances at normal lives. They deserve it. They’ve known nothing but horror and despair. We want to show them that the world is much more. The funds will be spent to pay for 64 dog's vet bills, ground transport, flight fees, crates, kibble, water. All receipts will be available for review.

Your funds will be withdrawal by Se Jung aka "Ivy" for the "Help Request for Yangsan Dog Farm" campaign. Since GoFundMe requires a U.S. account, we will be using Ivy's account to for withdrawals then will wire transfer the funds into Annie's Korean bank account. She will then pay for all vet and other bills associated with this rescue.

RESCUE:

We will start tomorrow and will pull all dogs. We've also bought the wire cages so this pos can never enslave another animal ever again. We’ve assembled all the crates, collars, Leashes, and transportation. This alone already cost us approximately $3000 USD.

The first team left for the farm at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) and is currently on-site. They found a rusty wagon of half-rotten raw pork that the farmer was using to feed the dogs. The farmer proudly described the moldy garbage as his "last good will gesture and farewell gift" for them (he used to feed them rotten boiled noodles). We found a baby Dachshund (who was perfectly intact last week) with his front right leg cut off. Farmer claims it was another dog but this baby was alone in the cage.

I’ll be leaving for the farm in 7 hours and rescue will start early morning tomorrow. There are 51 dogs on the farm now as the Dachshund puppy was taken to the vet immediately. We will bring all dogs to Seoul but they still direly need placements, shelters ,adopters and treatments. The farmer's only given us until May 10, 2019 to pull all the dogs so we've barely scrambled to pull all resources and help together to ensure safe removal of the dogs.

The farm is 230 miles away from Seoul and since the farmer has stressed multiple times that he won't give up the dogs if there are too many people on his farm, we can’t really go back and forth to rescue in sessions.

I so badly wish we had more time, people, planning, resources and space. I am very well-aware that this plan is beyond unorganized, rushed and somewhat doomed. But with such limited time, this was the best we could manage and sadly, this is Yangsan dogs’ only shot at life for the time being.

Very few Rescue Organizations in the U.S. have committed to some but it’s nowhere close to 52. Thank you in advanced for your help. Both of us believe in transparency of all donations received. All donations and expenses will be managed by Annie. We thank you so much in advanced for helping us out!

Sincerely,

Annie Ham, Hannah Kim, and Se Jung aka "Ivy" Yoon
