Hello we are the Costa brothers, sons of a beautiful person named Ramira. (Remy for short for those who have not had the pleasure of meeting her) She is a wonderful person that is well known amongst the community for her work in music for 20+ years in everything from weddings to charitable events.
Unfortunately in early 2016 we faced some hard times where she suffered from what we thought were ear infections, and completely devastated when she was diagnosed with a form of cancer called "Squanomous Cell Carcinoma" in her inner ear. (August 16')
We took immediate action, and were hoping a surgery to remove the mass followed up by 33 sessions of radiation would have her listening to music again! Unfortunately that was not the case as she required another surgery which removed a larger mass then the initial tumor and to add to the fire, another 4 tumors were discovered. (All samples showed they were malignant)
These treatments outside of the country have shown great results thus far and she will have to leave the country again to undergo evaluation and further treatment in the near future .. Unfortunately these treatments are not FDA approved in our country yet. This means our insurance will not be covering this and the treatment would have costed us $140,000 out of pocket. Something we couldn't do. So our parents have been outside the country in desperation for a cure with treatments that have costed us $9,000 a week. Although this has been effective, it has also been extremely costly.
We really hope all our friends & even strangers are reading this and can give us a hand in these tough times.
