Help Relieve Mozart's Dental Pain

One of our goals as a rescue is to find a forever home for every pet that comes into our care. For some pets, that means spending a lot of money to provide them with medical services required to diagnose and treat any illnesses or physical issues.  We want our pets to thrive, not merely survive.  For Mozart, that means raising $1500 for a very involved dental procedure, which includes extracting numerous teeth affected by painful resorptive lesions.

Unfortunately, tooth resorptions (TR) are a common affliction, affecting more than half of cats over three years old. These tooth defects come in many varieties, such as cavities, neck lesions, external or internal root resorptions, FORLs and cervical line erosions. Affected tooth roots often erode and disappear when they are replaced by bone. Of course, tooth resorptions can be quite painful. Treating a tooth resorption means extracting the affected tooth to bring relief.  Cats are often impacted by significant oral and dental conditions – but the silver lining is that these maladies can often be treated allowing cats to be pain-free and happy – to thrive.  Happy, pain-free, and thriving in a loving, forever home is where we want Mozart to be.

We admitted Mozart into our rescue network back in April.  Because he is otherwise doing well, the medical expenses of other PPAH cats with more urgent needs have continued to supersede Mozart’s expensive dental surgery.  It doesn’t seem fair that sweet Mozart’s needs have been put on the back burner for the last seven months.  Neither he, nor we, want him to have to wait any longer to find a permanent, loving family to call his own.  Please donate today today so that Mozart can have his dental surgery in December and focus his New Year’s resolution on finding a forever home.
