Help Reina Project Support Artists & Organizers

In 2022 Reina Project will be launching the Nurturing Networks Fellowship. The first-ever  Drag and Organizer Fellowship program. (Remote / In person, Based in NYC)

 

With Community support, Reina Project hopes to grow its platform and assist two aspiring queer artists, and an organizer by providing them with the tools, Pop/Political Education, and Resources to build sustainable practices and develop affirming public programming.

 

These resources will be formed from media, workshops, and tools, That have aided them in developing their own Drag Artistry, and Organizing practice. (You can support here.)

 

As well as workshops led by established drag artists and organizers on relevant topics and skills. This will come with stipends, and other auxiliary budgets being allocated to support the artists through this 5-month fellowship process.

 

RP Hopes to create and model an alternative to the competition-based model of developing young Drag Artists, and Organizers.

 

This opportunity and space will exist as an affirming collaborative incubator for these Artists / Organizers from the period of February 2022, with digital workshops/ relational building, and culminating in an original public Pride offering organized by the fellows, with the support of Themme (Head Organizer / Drag Artist) in June 2022. For a cause of their choosing.

 

These individuals will work with and be supported by Themme, in learning about Public event production, programming, social media marketing, Anti Racist Principles, QT Resistance, Trans Histories, Mutual Aid, performing, the art of "Holding Space", & more these will be stipended, supported, and resourced positions that will seek to explore sustainable mutual aid networks, and affirming public Practices.

 

The Reina Project is a DIY / Digital Platform that has been using the power of Queer art, for Mutual aid, Healing, and Education since Spring 2019. Most of this work was made possible through community support and collaborations with “Themme”, an autonomous Drag Organizer and Cultural worker from NYC, as well as the activation of public space for healing programming.

 

They hope to cultivate understanding and practices of embodied support for the next generation of Drag Artists and Queer organizers. As Well as modeling what is possible through engaging in collaborative relationships of deep accountability and interdependence through mutual aid and reciprocal support.

These funds will go to stipends for all artists/ fellows involved in materializing this offering. Help Reina Project continue it's work and be able to pay their Queer Trans talent as the platform grows. Provide the fellows, and guest facilitators with stipends, create Budgets for costumes, Transportation* public programming that fellows will assist/ lead in bringing to life
