Help Rebuild Verde Cocina at Sylvan Highlands
We, staff, family and friends, are heartbroken to share that Verde Cocina has had to close their Sylvan Highlands café due to a fire that started in the early morning hours of July 22nd. Cause of the fire is unknown at this time. What we do know is that Anna and Noé' Garnica's beautiful cafe is currently inoperable because of extensive damage to the west roof, offices, back kitchen, bar, and bar patio.
Closure of the Sylvan Highlands location is particularly costly for Verde Cocina not only because the company relies on sales from this cafe, but because the majority of food preparation and all food storage supporting Verde Cocina's cafes, catering, and farmers market stands takes place here.
Anna and Noé are far from giving up hope. They are resilient small business owners who have grown their business from the ground up over the last 10+ years. While Verde Cocina has been blessed with many successes, the company has also faced substantial hurdles including water damage requiring costly repairs to their Pearl District cafe, the recent closure of that same cafe a little over a year after reopening, and ongoing operational losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
