Shortly after 12pm on November 17, high winds downs a power line, sparking the fast moving “Mountain View Fire” near the small town of Walker, CA. Within three hours, the fire had grown to 5,000 acres with no containment.
That Tuesday started out like most other days for the Johanna and the rest of the Tackitt family: Johanna teaching online school at the kitchen table, her own kids also working through their online studies. In almost the blink of an eye, they were evacuated and their lives upended. Johanna, her husband Danny, and the kids had little more than 15 minutes to spare when they were evacuated – enough time to get themselves and the pets loaded into the truck. Minutes later their home was engulfed in flames.
