Help Rebuild River Valley Cheese from fire
Donation protected
Yesterday, the River Valley Cheese facility on Tiger Mountain was destroyed by fire. The owner, Kristi Slotemaker has taught thousands of students and given them a smile. She vows to rebuild and continue entertaining and educating.
River Valley Cheese began with a dream to build a community centered on curiosity and interaction.
On the morning of Feb 19, when Kristi arrived on the scene, smoke and ashes smoldered where buildings once stood. From the moment she saw the devastation, she had to distinguish the building from the business. While the building is a skeleton, the River Valley Cheese spirit remains very much alive.
Her commitment is enduring and Kristi wants to be reunited with her cheesy community of curious people. She’s hoping to invite the community to come play with her again and become part of the restoratIon.
Those who know Kristi recognize her strength and service to others. We want to return some of what she has brought to us. Part, but not all of the loss, was covered by insurance.
"Every morning we wake up, excited to engage our fellow humans in a creative way and deliver hands-on experiences that leave you laughing and wanting to explore more. We live by the ancient proverb: Hear & I forget. See & I remember. Do & I understand." -Kristi
